Hello, Knits!

Knits are hot right now! We’re seeing more and more patterns coming out made or adaptable for knits. Easy, breezy and oh-so cute!

Two of the newest patterns include the Children’s Corner Nora

Nora includes 2 versions .. a straight dress or one with a drop-waist and circle skirt perfect for twirling.  Nora comes in 2 different size options 1 – 6 and 7 – 14.

Another fresh, new pattern is Olive Ann Designs Missy.

The knit option features a drawstring waist and has not buttons or zippers .. too easy! I have got to find a pattern similar to this for adults. Just saw something similar at Ann Taylor Loft and while I loved the look, the dress was a wee bit too short for my liking. Now I’m inspired to make my own!

A pattern that we’ve had in the shop for awhile is the Bonnie Blue Charlotte.

What’s great about Charlotte is all the different options! We’ve made this before and have a sample in the works now. This is a cute dress that goes together quickly. The flutter sleeve top is adorable!

Our favorite knits right now come from Art Gallery. They feel amazing and wash up well too. Beautiful colors and prints … you’ll want them all just like we do!

Flash Sale Alert … all knit fabrics are 25% off now through Thursday, July 7th.

Children’s Corner Charlotte + Seersucker

Continuing the Seersucker Love-fest we have going on .. this is a project we made last year – Children’s Corner Charlotte made with Fabric Finders Seersucker in Coral Check.

For those of you who have not made the Charlotte before, you’ll find that this is a fairly easy pattern to follow and goes together quickly. We embellished the front with a little white ric-rac just to add a touch of whimsy.

Children’s Corner Charlotte comes in 2 sizes .. 1 – 4 and 5 – 8. Both are available at Lola Pink Fabrics. The pants you see on the front of the pattern are also included and from what I’ve been told are a slimmer fit than the Parker Pants.

Be sure and check out our seersucker selection. This top/dress would be adorable using any of them.

Seersucker Love

You just can’t beat seersucker in the summer in the south! So classic, so cool, so perfect! Dresses, bubbles, shorts, pants .. whatever you’re in the mood to make will look polished and fun using some of the awesome seersucker fabrics we have in the shop.

Inspiration piece #1 .. found on Pinterest from Zulily

Take the Children’s Corner Jane pattern, adapt it with Lezette’s ruffle instructions, and add some Children’s Corner Parker Pants and some bows to finish it off. Too cute and seriously easy to do.

Inspiration piece #2 .. found on Pinterest from Smocked Auctions

To make something similar to this, you’ll need to pre-order the Bonnie Blue Brylee pattern that we have coming in and make View 2. This outfit is just too precious!

More seersucker inspiration can be found on the Lola Pink Seersucker Love Pinterest board. Including some great bags and clothes for adults. Every time I look through the images on Pinterest I want to run to the shop and hoard all of the seersucker!

All of our seersucker fabrics are from Fabric Finders which is a high-quality, 60″ wide fabric. We have a variety of colors as well as some embroidered fabrics and plain white. Lots of Children’s Corner Taylors being made in our Sit & Sew classes using the embroidered alligators and watermelons.
